21st June~ my company team building Taman Negara trip… Before that, last year my company bought us to Port Dickson. This is the most exhausted trip ever in my life so far (not as hard as my scouting day)… This trip reminds me of my scouting day back in my secondary school…

Me~ some where in the jungle…

Group B before on our way masuk hutan~

Our tour guide~
Small brief about Taman Negara Nasional Park
“Taman Negara National Park was established in Malaysia in 1938/1939 as the King George V National Park. It was renamed to Taman Negara after independence, which literally means “national park” in Malay. The total area of Taman Negara is 4,343 km².
Taman Negara encompasses three states, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu, each with its own legislation. The Taman Negara Enactment (Pahang) No. 2 of 1939 is enforced in the state of Pahang, the Taman Negara Enactment (Kelantan) No. 14 of 1938 in the state of Kelantan and the Taman Negara Enactment (Terengganu) No. 6 of 1939 in the state of Terengganu. The enactments have similar contents.
Taman Negara Pahang is the largest at 2,477 km², followed by Taman Negara Kelantan at 1,043 km² and Taman Negara Terengganu at 853 km².” Taken from wikipedia…
Actually the Taman Negara trip wasn’t that hard just that after so long I din move my muscle, everyday sit in air con room, facing computer…. suddenly ask me go outdoor explorer adventure thingy… memang exhausted. Thanks to my colleague that suggest Taman Negara trip in the previous company team building trip. Normally from what I heard from my friends, companies usually plan games and such and divide to team and fight against each others, well my company is a bit different, we do everything as a team and we don’t have any scoreboard. This trip is more like testing our physical and enjoy explore new things.
Day one, we reach one of the army base camp Batalion ke-7 Kem Batu 5 Mentakab before we check in our hotel. The bus driver drop us there and our tour guide bring us to meet the captain or Sargent…. I have no idea… They brief us some the activities that we going to have for the entire evening. So telling us bla.. bla.. bla… those commando crossing thing and yada…yada… The first thing we do ~ abseiling. I remember my first time during my scouting day… that time we set up the whole thing ourselves and is only about three storing height building. This time…. six storing building… SYOK!!! After they brief us the abseiling than start let us play with it. 6 storing building is a damn good experience.

This is abseiling~~
Second day, this is where the rough day start happen…. Depart from Jerantut to Kuala Tahan. There are four of us bring camera to Taman Negara. For your information if you want to bring camera take pictures in Taman Negara you must get a permit by them, the price is RM 5. Than the people there explain to us the rules in Taman Negara example like you cannot take anything or leave anything there. So we start our journey… with a backpack inside camera and tripod wasn’t easy for a small skinny bugger like me… Jungle trek to Teresek Hill (344m). All the way suka suka take picture. The higher we go the more tired and lazy I am to take our my camera and take pictures…. some area really really difficult to climb… (actually walk…). Here are some of the picture while I still got energy…

Me posing~ somewhere in the jungle

After almost half way to the top, tour guide explain to us that there are two spot left, first view and second view… what they mean by view is where you can check out clear sky and mountain… Since I reach half already why not continue to the top… From the top you might able to see the peak of Gunung Tahan… But when I reach there, disappointment… actually is nothing wow… no Gunung Tahan peak… the tour guide said too cloudy jor… but ok lah I achieve something climb all the way~~. For a city boy like me is something to be proud of. Walking down is the toughest part…. damn my leg shake like hell…

Bukit Terisek~~

Gear up~~

After that, continue to challenge the longest canopy walkway in the world which was installed above 40m and stretching above 530m long. Very syok and scary… cause I a bit kia si type… what actually canopy walk are bridges between and in the canopy of a forest, mostly linked up with platforms inside or around the trees. While you walk, the bridge shake~~ when you look down~~ very high and no idea how deep it goes… Here are some of the shot during canopy walk.

Finish the canopy walk we back to where we start and straight to restaurant for lunch… super hungry!!! If you ask me if the food nice or not, seriously I have no idea I’m hungry and I can eat what ever on the table.
We continue our activity to Aborigine Village meet orang asli~ why? go chill lepak with them… We go there by motorboat. Experience 45 minutes shooting 7 sets of the rapids to Kuala Trenggan. This is the best boat experience ever in my life so far~~ there were two boat for us, every time the boat go near each other the water SPLASH GILER!!! and we all wet!! they purposely wanna make us wet. Very fun we keep compete with the other boat and splash them. I thought this is suppose to happen for all the tourists here, when we reach the orang asli place… we are the only peoples there all wet~~ other tourists look at us like we also part of the orang asli gang swimming across the river instant of boat. I thought they gonna be naked Hahaha…. I’m wrong!!! They wear t-shirt same like us but their look a bit like African. There they show us how they start fire and how they hunt with their weapon build from bamboo. They even let us try the weapon.

Conclusion, female is better than male in this bamboo weapon thing…. (within my company colleagues~~) Finish the orang asli trip, again WATER SPLASHING TIME!!! all the way back. Sorry no picture~~ my camera no waterproof.
After that, we took our dinner and visit Kota Gelanggi Cave. Inside there very nice, all natural rock shape million years ago… the tour guide explain the rock and before that was deep in the sea, then tell how old this rock and that one, how to tell the rock is alive and dead. Very good experience I wish I can take some picture but too dark and I don’t have external flash light for my camera… sienz… After that head back to hotel and sleep…. Suppose I wan to watch Italy Vs Spain match but too damn exhauted…
Third day (Last day), woke up took our breakfast and one of my colleague told me The Azzurri lost~~ kanasai…. penalty lost… Buffon…. haih…. finish the breakfast check out hotel than head back where we actually belong… Kuala Lumpur~

Is a very fun trip happy to be there… exhausted but able to taste some new experience… priceless~~ I urge everyone should try something once in a life time while still can. Even is hard and tough during that time, after you done it than flash back after a few days you feel very excited each time you talk about it with friends and family. But if you ask me wanna try again or not, I would say no!!! I want something else~~ Peace.
