Digital Transformation & IT Consulting

Digital transformation and IT consulting in Malaysia.

Most people who ask about this expect it to be quick and cheap. That is the misunderstanding worth clearing up first, because it decides whether the rest of the conversation goes anywhere: moving how a business actually runs — the work that currently happens on paper, over WhatsApp and in spreadsheets — onto something online is a change to the business, not a purchase. It is also the thing that, done properly, stops costing you time every week.

Digital transformation

In practice this almost always means the same thing: taking traditional manual work and putting it online. An enquiry that arrives by phone and gets written on a pad. A booking confirmed over WhatsApp and recorded in a spreadsheet that one person maintains. A process that works, until the person who knows it is on leave.

The work is deciding what should move, in what order, and what it should move onto — then building that part and leaving the rest alone. Not everything needs to be online, and a transformation that tries to replace everything at once tends to be abandoned halfway. We would rather move the one process that is costing you the most and have it actually used.

IT consulting

The technical questions a business has no one in-house to answer: what software to use, what hardware is needed, which services and which vendor, where to host, how the domain should be set up, whether it is secure, why it is slow, and what to do about something that is broken.

Where a project needs a server prepared and configured, that is part of the work rather than something handed back to you. Some of this is one decision made once. Some of it is a question that recurs, which is why it often turns into an ongoing arrangement rather than a project with an end date.

Where this differs from asking for a website

A website is a deliverable. It has a scope, it gets built, it launches, and the project closes. This is a decision about how the business works — which usually means it does not finish at launch, and the useful part is often the advice rather than the thing that gets built.

The two overlap constantly, and plenty of projects start as one and become the other. If what you actually need is a website, the web design and development page is the honest place to start, and we will say so.

What we do not do

We do not procure hardware. We will tell you what you need and why; buying it is yours, and we have no interest in marking up equipment.

We also do not do staffing — neither placing people nor running an IT department for you.

Who this is for

Businesses in Malaysia running something important on a manual process, and whoever has ended up responsible for fixing that. Often the same person who would otherwise be briefing us on a website.

We do not take unpaid work, or projects offered in exchange for exposure. We also do not publish fixed prices, because the cost depends on what has to change. Tell us the budget you have and we will tell you honestly what it covers, and what it does not.

Work

  • Time Hotel

    Time Hotel

A hotel group across five locations, where the platform launched and the relationship did not stop there — ongoing maintenance and IT consulting since, as a long-term advisor rather than a closed project. The clearest example on this page of what the ongoing version of this work looks like.

  • Firstnet Solutions Sdn Bhd

    Firstnet Solutions

An IT infrastructure, network security and support provider whose own capabilities were not coming across online. Design, front end, back end and deployment, end to end.
